Celebrant Services Offered
Hello, my name is Philip Reeves, my home is in Fleetwood in Lancashire just north of Blackpool. I share my home with my Wife Karen and our two Shitzu dogs, Poppy and Simba and various cold water fishes.
I left school at 15 and joined the Royal Navy, first as an Officers Chef and later changing jobs to become an Aircraft Handler, here I performed the duties of Ground movement of Aircraft, Aircraft Crash Rescue Fireman and Assistant Air Traffic controller.
After 9 years of service I left to return to ‘civvie street’. Initially working as a sand tester in a steel casting foundry. Since then I have had a varied career. I have sold everything from ice cream to cars and vans, from Insurance to vacuum cleaners. I have run Pubs restaurants and hotels and driven Trucks, Buses, Taxis and Trams and worked as a property maintenance worker.
Aged 37 I enrolled at The University of Blackpool and gained a Degree in Licensed Retail Management, achieving a 2.1 B.A with honours. Since I was very young I have written poetry mainly in verse and covering every subject under the sun.
My friends call me ‘Guru’ as I am a spiritual healer, teacher and guide people in meditation. I also occasionally practice as a Medium, and write spiritual philosophy. I support everyone’s right to believe or not as they see fit, providing what YOU believe gives you comfort and harms no-
I I have 2 children with my 1st wife and am extremely close to both of my wife Karen’s children.
In September 2007 I was pronounced terminally ill with Kidney Cancer which had spread to both Lungs. After major surgery and lots of chemotherapy it was discovered that All the cancer in my lungs had completely disappeared. Even my Doctors called this a ‘miracle’. I remain cancer free 6 years down the line.
I hold qualifications in massage and other holistic therapies and am a Certified hypnotherapist.
I believe that my life experiences aid me greatly in my work as an Independent Secular Celebrant, I believe in providing a thoroughly professional service, no matter what the occasion or beliefs/orientation, ethnicity of the client.
I see my role as ensuring that clients receive the exact ceremony they require (where ever this is possible). This is why I chose to train with and belong to the United Kingdom Society of Celebrants.
I am committed to constantly develop the necessary knowledge and skills required to fulfil this role for many years to come.
