Wedding and Funeral Celebrant in Worcestershire
Hi I’m Alison Ainsworth and I’m your Family, Wedding and Funeral Celebrant in Worcestershire. I am mid thirties (does a woman ever tell her age). Where do I begin in starting to tell you about me?
I'd easily be described as a hopeless romantic. I married my childhood sweetheart of almost twenty years two years ago after waiting a very long time for a proposal, and yes before you think it, the day was worth the wait. Then last year we welcomed our first child, our daughter and we are now embracing the magical but also exhausting rollercoaster ride that is parenting.
Family is extremely important to me, biological and those I have chosen myself along the years through friendship also. I value people, I enjoy human connection and believe that those happy and not so happy occasions need celebration, personality and should be memorable for the right reasons.
Many people have asked why I became a celebrant, its not a typical carer path to take and that I appreciate. The answer is very simple for me, life experiences. The life experiences I have had to this point I believe have led me here. I have had lots of personal experience with grief and now feel the strength it has provided me with has brought me to this. I feel that being the family of someone who has passed away has allowed me to relate, I understand how it feels to make final decisions about someones last day in their physical form. This gives me motivation and gives me I believe, a difference sense of pride- my motivation is not only to ensure that the day is special for the person or people it is dedicated to- but also for the loved ones who are part of the day and memories.
It is a privilege to become the story teller of someones love or life story. To create a day that feels and captivates the essence of those it is about.
I provide Funeral Services to families in Solihull and the surrounding areas of Worcestershire and Birmingham also.
The service provided includes an initial telephone call to the family, typically named as the Next of Kin.
This call is an initial introduction by myself to the ensure we are well suited and that you as the client are comfortable with us working together moving forward.
The call is then followed by a home visit.
I advise clients that this home visit will usually take a couple of hours of their time. It is organised at a convenient time for the family, my hours are flexible. I also during the initial telephone call advise on the amount of family that can be present for our home visit.
If any family members are unable to attend but wish to contribute then I am contactable via telephone or email throughout.
Once the home visit is completed I then create a bespoke life story service, this service is created collaboratively with the family providing final oversight to ensure that they are satisfied with the content and order of service on their loved ones final day.
Another element to the service offered is that I can liaise with the Funeral Directors regarding the creation of the order of service, I can support with music selection choices if this is required also. For me whatever I can do to support in making a difficult time that bit easier I am happy to do. I consider my role as a celebrant from the time of meeting the family to the closure of the Funeral or Memorial Service to be an extension of support to the friends and family of the person who has passed away.
Finally the delivery- a service focused on telling the life story of the person who has passed, a celebration that captures the essence of their being.
