Allison Gott | Family & Funeral Celebrant

I am a 52 year old Mum who lives in, and runs, a Restaurant/Bar. I have always had a lifelong yearning to work within the Funeral business. This yearning has inspired me to engage on a course to become a Family Celebrant. As a Family Celebrant, I can create, deliver and oversee bespoke ceremonies for so many different life changing events.

Following a serious life threatening illness approximately 3 years ago, I have taken time to reflect on life itself and have no personal fear of death or beyond. I have a deep faith that keeps me happy and contended with life and, although am not a regular church attendee, have a personal love of God. I feel I am spiritual and have high personal morals although do not inflict them on others. Having grown up with a sister who cried herself to sleep at night in fear of death, I would like to help others that are struggling, in both practical and emotional ways. I feel I have empathy and compassion for others and would like to help steer bereaved families through an emotional time as well as embrace the joy of marriage and welcome babies in naming ceremonies.

By becoming a Family Celebrant, I am able to marry friends and family, much to their delight. I have already been given the honour of marrying two girlfriends later this year.

I am so very enthused and excited about the endless possibilities connected with becoming a Celebrant. Life is for the living and what an absolute honour to be chosen to share special moments with others.
