Funeral Celebrant in Glasgow
Before becoming a celebrant, my career path has been eclectic. Conversing and helping others has always appealed to me and this has been reflected in a lot of the jobs I have done previously.
My previous experience has included, most recently, working in a hospital caring for the elderly. Many of those I care for are approaching the end of their lives. Sensitivity and compassion when dealing with patients and their loved ones is a part of my role that I take great pride in.
Caring for others over a twenty year period has been a major part of my professional life and has helped me to learn about myself and others.
Previously I was a professional footballer and played in the top leagues in both Scotland, and England. I was also employed in the golf industry for several years in a variety of roles. Along my journey, I have also completed two university degrees in social sciences and golf management.
My passions in life are spending time with my wife and my four children. I'm a lifelong golfer and love being outdoors in the fresh air on the green grass under a blue sky.
Listening and talking with others is a great antidote for the vagaries of life and something I find genuinely appealing. Everyone has a story and we all have a need to be listened to and hopefully, appreciated. Being there and present for those who are suffering is a skill that I possess in abundance.
Please don't hesitate to contact me to if you feel the need or wish for some advice. A phone call may help to put you at ease.
The loss of a loved one is a devastating experience and I am here to help hopefully alleviate some of the distress. My role is to help put together a ceremony that will reflect and capture the individual personality of the deceased, and what they meant to their family and friends.
With your help, we can combine. and I can produce a structured and personalised tribute which accurately reflects the life that was lived.
In recent times many funerals have evolved from religious services to more personal and unique ceremonies which are specifically adapted to mirror the life of the deceased person. Let me help you to convey your memories, thoughts and preferences in the form of a funeral which is tailored to suit the needs of you and your loved ones.
By actively listening to you, we can give your loved one the ceremony that they deserve. It is also a chance for significant family and friends to play whatever part they feel is appropriate in the funeral ceremony. For example, they may wish to read a passage or poem or perform a eulogy.
I can guide and advise with ideas and hopefully take some of the distress from you whilst doing so. This will be done with patience and a genuine desire to support and therefore give your loved one the best ceremony that I can.
Loved ones can go through a multitude of difficult emotions at this time, and a friendly respectful face may help in some manner to minimise the suffering. Hopefully I can offer a service in which I will do my best to deliver a fitting ceremony with the utmost care and compassion.
