Hi I’m Pam and I’m a Celebrant! Thanks for coming to my page, welcome!

I hope you find what you are looking for but feel free to get in touch to have a chat, I’m happy to answer any questions you have about what I offer.

I decided to become a Celebrant after a series of life events in my family brought us into contact with some very good and very bad personnel offering services for celebrations. As a yoga teacher working predominantly with pregnant women and new mums I wanted to be able to extend how I supported them at that very special time in their lives and offer a celebration of transition from ‘Maiden to Mother’; whilst investigating how to do that the idea of becoming a celebrant grew and everyone I spoke too thought I had the right mix of skills and personality to bring to this role. So here I am now, doing this, and loving every minute!

In my former life I have been among other things a hotel receptionist, a lecturer, researcher and administrator in Higher Education, a self-confidence coach and a yoga teacher. All of which may seem like an eclectic mix but have given me the skills to offer you a totally personalised celebration that fits you, your unique personalities, your personal requirements. As many of these roles have required great organisational skills, listening and supporting, relationship building and the ability to speak well in public, all parts which are vital to a great celebrant; I have those and would love to use them to support you at this time.

For me, I think my role is to listen to you, to interpret what is in your head, sometimes in a messy tangle of thoughts, into a ceremony with an outline structure, and we then work together to achieve a polished gem where people will thank you for the ceremony.

I’m married to Allan and have 2 grown children, Claire and Luke and a very hairy rescue collie, Floyd. We love spending time together and dog walking on the beach or in the hills is where I can be found most weekends! I also read, and spend a good deal of my time on self-development, I love learning (and have been a perpetual student for many years), and for someone who struggled to concentrate at school one of my greatest achievements was earning my PhD in 2008. I’m currently in training for a challenge for Dove House Hospice, where I'll learn to dance, Strictly Style and perform at Hull City Hall, hopefully I’ll not fall over and will raise lots of money in the process. Having being diagnosed with Lymphoma in 2016 and had successful treatment this is my way of giving back. (You can follow my journey here!)

I am based in Hull but happy to travel to wherever your ceremony is going to mean most to you and your loved ones. I’m proud to have represented my city as a City of Culture volunteer in 2017, maybe you saw us in our distinctive blue uniforms?

Hopefully this has given you and idea of me and what I can do for you, I'd be more than happy to have a chat about what it is that you are looking for and see if you think I'm the Celebrant for you and your family.

Pam x
