Hi, my name is Matt Davis.

I now live in the beautiful county of Staffordshire, with my wife, Lynn and my son Jack.

I was born in Gillingham in Kent, but my Dad was ambitious and so we moved around the country a few times during his career as an Engineer, working in various senior roles within the M.O.D.
Our family, my Mum and Dad, two brothers and me, lived in Nottingham until I was 13, then we moved to Southend on Sea, in Essex.
Which is where I lived before I met Lynn. After being together for a year, we sold up and moved to the midlands, to be Lynn’s family.
I’ve lived in Staffordshire for 20 years now and been married for 15 of those years and we now have a teenage son Jack. Our blessings are many and the landscape beautiful.
My background has been in the Electronics Industry, Where worked as an Engineer.
During my career, I worked as a Technical Trainer for four years, which is where I discovered I had the ability to stand up and talk in front of quite large groups.

I have always been a people person and like nothing more than interaction with people from all walks of life.
In the last twelve months I have lost both my parents, it was as a result of this, that I decided I wanted to work as a celebrant.
We had a celebrant (Julie) officiating at both my parent’s funerals, where I helped by writing a Eulogy to my mother.
I found this profoundly moving and Cathartic. inspiring me to want to help other people to have the same experience, when they say goodbye to their loved ones.
I feel my own sense of grief has given me an empathy and understanding, for people who are suffering through the loss of a loved one.

I care deeply that your tribute to a member of your family or a friend, should be customised to reflect the way the person lived and should include stories about their life, funny or otherwise.

Although funerals are obviously sad occasions, in a bespoke ceremony, there is no reason at all that we cannot include some humour along the way to lift your spirits a little, embracing the joy and love the person bought into your life.

I believe that a funeral should be a celebration of life, not death!
