Born and raised on the Wirral, I moved to Chester in my early twenties and have called Cheshire home ever since. Losing my fiancé at 21 profoundly shaped my outlook on life, grief, and resilience, inspiring me to pursue a career in nursing—a vocation grounded in empathy, care, and compassion.

For over 33 years as a registered nurse, I supported people through some of life’s most vulnerable and challenging moments. Working in a variety of roles strengthened my ability to listen, communicate with warmth, and offer calm reassurance in challenging situations. Those years taught me that every person’s story is unique and that sincerity, integrity and understanding are essential for meaningful human connection.

In later years, personal experiences of bereavement deepened my understanding of the grieving process. Speaking at both of my parents’ funerals revealed how comforting and healing a ceremony can be when it genuinely captures someone’s essence — their humour, passions and the impact they had on others, bringing solace to those left behind. That realisation inspired me to help families create farewells filled with warmth, remembrance, and authenticity.

After retiring from nursing, I worked as a funeral arranger, gaining valuable insight into the care and coordination behind each service. It was during that time I recognised my true calling: to be part of the ceremony itself. This led me to train as a funeral celebrant with the UK Society of Celebrants, where I learned to craft and deliver ceremonies that are personal, uplifting, and respectful.

Planning a funeral can feel overwhelming, especially when emotions are raw. My role is to make the process calm and uncomplicated, allowing you to focus on what really matters — honouring your loved one and finding consolation in shared memories.

I work closely with funeral directors and families to create a tribute that reflects the personality and spirit of the person being remembered. Whether you prefer the content to be non-religious or would like to incorporate hymns, prayers, or readings, everything will be tailored to your wishes and values.

I’m happy to meet you at home or in another setting where we can talk freely about your loved one’s life and what made them special. These conversations often bring out laughter and cherished memories, helping to shape a ceremony that feels heartfelt and genuine.

Recognised for empathy, professionalism, and meticulous attention to detail, I take pride in ensuring that each ceremony is delivered with sincerity and compassion. My goal is to create a farewell that not only acknowledges loss but also celebrates life — offering comfort, reflection, and even lightness to all who attend.

Outside of my work, I’m a keen Formula 1 fan and enjoy gardening, DIY, puzzles, baking, knitting, and a variety of crafts.
