Hello, my name is Jo Millard. I’m a Family, Wedding and Funeral Celebrant in North London, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Essex.

I am professionally trained, accredited and certified as a Celebrant by the United Kingdom Society of Celebrants (UKSOC).

I live in London and I love living in London. It’s definitely my spiritual home. I love all it offers - and what it doesn’t offer, like all Londoners gives me an opportunity to enjoy a good moan about it 🙂

I’ve worked in the charity sector for over thirty years - and I’ve loved that too. I like the mix that working in the sector brings. The variety of people and it’s people that fascinate me - it’s life stories that I’m intrigued by - and I fully believe that everyone one of us has a rich and interesting tale to tell.

My kids have all grown up and just about flown the nest and so it was time to find something new - a new challenge; a different path and it was my sister who persuaded me to become a Celebrant. She thought that my love of a good story, my ability to write a good tale, lead and deliver presentations would be an ideal mix and so I decided to give it a go and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made.More and more people are turning to celebrants to mark their most important and special occasions in life. We all want those days to be memorable; to be meaningful; for them to reflect who we are and for them to shine a light on those we love.

Planning a ceremony that’s memorable begins with you - and your stories. We all have amazing tales to tell - and it’s those tales that are at the heart of my ceremonies; so that each ceremony I write and deliver is unique - as unique as you are, your loved ones and your guests.

Whether it’s a funeral, a wedding, renewing your vows, a welcome for someone new into your family or another special occasion that you’d like a celebrant to lead on - please get in touch.

Firstly, we’ll chat details and your hopes for the day. We’ll get to know each other a little and if you think I’m the right person for the job, we’ll then get together and start the planning.

That’s a time for us to really get to know each other; for me to find out about the your history; hear of your memories and anecdotes, the myths and the legends - because it’s those that’ll really make your ceremony personal and memorable.

We’ll talk music; we’ll talk poems, readings and any other rituals or elements you might want to include.

We can make your ceremony meaningful or light; it can include moments of joy and celebration, contemplation and reflection; it can be traditional or quirky; and if you like we can find ways for your guests to join in too….it’s your ceremony.
