Hi, my name is John and I am your family, wedding and funeral celebrant in South Yorkshire. I live in Sheffield. I am educated to a Masters level, as well as holding qualified teacher status. I have spent my career working in the education sector. My career path focussed on special needs provision. I enjoyed working with children, parents and educational and social care professionals. This has enabled me to nurture and hone skills that are extremely useful as a civil celebrant. I am punctual, reliable, thorough and trustworthy.

I am married and have 3 grown up children and two pre-school grandchildren. My family are very important to me. I enjoy spending quality time with my twin grandchildren - they are certainly adventurous, mischievous and full of spirit. Christmas and Easter are important, along with other family celebrations. During family times, we strive to all fit around the table to enjoy each others company and great food.

I enjoy foreign travel to exotic places. I have walked through The Taj Mahal in Agra, washed in the Ganges River, strode along the Great Wall of China and sat under palm trees on the beaches of Queensland. My travel adventures have not finished. I have plans to visit the Florida Keys, enjoy Mardi Gras in New Orleans and ride on a horse through the Monument Valley.

Other interests include rugby and cricket, woodworking and renovating houses. If I am not in the house, you will normally catch me tinkering in my workshop.

An important aspect of me as a person are my personal values and traits. I am trustworthy, honest, hardworking and pragmatic in my approach to life. I still enjoy a challenge and a rewarding beverage at the end of a busy day!

As a civil celebrant, I offer years of emotional intelligence experience, coupled with quality story telling expertise. Drawing on transferrable skills following a quarter of a century working as a fully qualified teacher, I feel I am approachable, flexible and reliable.

I treat it as an honour to both listen to and gather anecdotes, using this information to craft an entertaining and sympathetic narrative of a person's journey through life. I am able to write at an extremely high level, creating and adapting ceremonies to meet the needs of a diverse spectrum of clients. Each client will receive a unique and tailored service that will go above and beyond expectations.

Each ceremony is conducted with appropriate reverence and sensitivity to ensure that it is both beautiful and meaningful. As part of the service offered, I will conduct an initial conversation to find out as much as I can about the plan ned celebration. Within a set time period, I will once again contact my client to clarify any further points and ensure that what has been produced meets with their approval.

Further guidance will be offered in choosing appropriate readings, poems and musical accompaniment. Additionally, I will also act as an intermediary, if required, with other organisations involved. This will help to ensure there is a caring and compassionate approach to the entire proceedings.
