As an Independent Celebrant, trained by UK Society of Celebrants, my aim is to create a truly unique and meaningful ceremony whatever your life event.
From rock bands and royalty, to becoming a celebrant
My life has been a great journey, full of surprising twists and turns. Becoming a celebrant is the happy culmination of many careers, all focused on making a positive impact on people’s lives, and my love of meeting new people and hearing their stories.
Before becoming a celebrant, I was an event organiser and charity fundraiser and prior to this an executive coach and recruitment consultant, and way back I managed rock bands.
Throughout my fundraising career I arranged events with royalty, celebrities and VIPs; all to raise money to help the most vulnerable members of society. This gave me the wonderful experience of meeting and working with people from all walks of life and has enabled me to feel comfortable in any given situation.
In all of my roles, success has relied on; nurturing relationships, good listening skills, public speaking, creative writing and empathy. These skills are just as important in my work as a celebrant, as I work with you to create a ceremony that truly reflects the personalities and characters at the heart of your memorable day.
My life, like most people’s, has been a mixture of happy and sad times, with memories to cherish. I’ve had many adventures, met many exciting and stimulating people and travelled to almost every continent. I’ve learned many lessons along the way but still feel I’m a work in progress, continually becoming a better version of myself. I am definitely a people person and love talking to everyone. Much to the dismay of my sons, I am always engaging strangers in conversation!
Originally from London, I now live in Hampshire and I am happiest in the countryside with the sea not too far away. I love entertaining my family and friends, creating the right atmosphere through food, music and conversation.
I bring many years of experience in creating events for every conceivable setting, from outdoor venues to cathedrals to stately homes, and of writing and delivering words that are meaningful and connect with those who are present.
Using these skills, both creative and professional, I will work with you to make your ceremony one that is truly unique and meaningful for everyone involved.
I am happy and able to include secular, spiritual and religious content or any special element that will make your ceremony truly personal.
Along with providing you with suggestions for music, readings and poetry that reflect the occasion perfectly, I am also able to craft a bespoke poem for your ceremony; giving a truly personal touch.
I travel throughout the South of England and London.
