Hello, I’m Lucy Jessop your Family, Wedding and Funeral Celebrant in London. These parts of my life, along with many personal experiences, deeply influence the compassionate and creative approach I bring to every ceremony.

I’m a trained civil celebrant with the UK Society of Celebrants (UKSOC), qualified to create and lead ceremonies for weddings, civil ceremonies, vow renewals, naming ceremonies, funerals, and memorials. Based in London, I’m happy to travel wherever your story calls me. I’m based in London but cover most of the South East too. I’m always happy to travel if it feels right and I’m the best person for your ceremony.

I’m an artist, empath, and animal lover. I’ve spent most of my life working in events across the arts, charity, and music sectors, but celebrancy is my true calling—a calling that allows me to support others through life-changing moments.

I founded The Compassionate Celebrant because I believe in the power of ceremony to honour life’s thresholds—the moments of deep meaning, joy, and change. As a writer and poet, I have a natural love for language and its ability to reflect the depth of human experience. I take joy in crafting ceremonies that speak to the heart and soul.

Alongside my celebrant work, I walk a personal path as a shamanic practitioner and Buddhist, which informs my approach to ceremony with a strong sense of connection, presence, and care. I’m always happy to incorporate spiritual elements, ritual practices, or personal beliefs wherever they feel meaningful and right.

To me, being a celebrant is about more than creating a beautiful ceremony. It’s about listening carefully, understanding what matters most, and helping you shape a ceremony that feels genuine, personal, and true to your story. It would be an honour to support you through the moments that matter most.

I hold the spaces I create with deep authenticity and respect for those I serve. My spiritual path and empathetic sensitivity make this work deeply important to me, especially when supporting people through times of loss or transition.

I also understand that animals and pets are deeply part of our lives, and I offer celebrant services for animal funerals too, holding space with the same sensitivity and respect.
