Funeral Celebrant in Leicestershire
Hello, my name is Mark Maxwell, your funeral celebrant in the Leicestershire region.
Where do I normally work?
From my home in Ashby de la Zouch, I operate as a Funeral Celebrant, normally within a 25mile radius of Ashby. This area covers parts of Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Warwickshire & Staffordshire.
What is my Family status?
Born in Scotland in the early sixties, I am 1 of 5 brothers. I have lived in Ashby for over 30 years. Amanda my wife & I married in the mid 80’s and we have 3 grown up sons and 4 grandchildren.
What is my background?
Just a normal bloke living an average life, like most of my clients! I had a great childhood as part of a large family, growing up in and around farms & forestry. Brought up 3 boys to be happy, independent & helpful. Very proud of them.
Most children will tell you that their happiest times were those spent with grandparents and school friends. That is real history, as told by the people who were there!
Family folklore is what keeps our dead loved ones with us, long after they are gone. We carry them in our hearts and minds for as long as we live. Our achievements and daft moments are all the greater, when told by others, especially by family.
A few of my favourite things?
Family, family research, fresh food & real ale, rugby, classic vehicles, antiques, gardening, live music, public speaking, creative writing, helping people, learning about people who dare to be different.
I also love great movies such as “It’s a Wonderful Life,” find out why below.
Why did I choose to be a Celebrant?
Being a Celebrant allows me to maximise my time with different and interesting people.
Being a good Celebrant ensures you immediately see and feel the results of a job well done. That is hugely rewarding and has given me a renewed sense of purpose.
Why choose me as your Funeral Celebrant?
Those that have already experienced my Eulogies, Speeches and Ceremony’s tell me that I have a “natural gift,” regarding the content and delivery. They tell me that I come across clearly, with a “lovely tone and a real sincerity.”
They enjoy my “calming influence” and tell me I am “very organised.” They are reassured by my confidence, and this helps them relax and concentrate fully, on respecting and honouring the deceased on their big day.
I take pride in building a truly inclusive ceremony. One where everyone attending, can identify with and recognise the deceased, from the delivered Ceremony.
The reason I love the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life” is that so many people go through very busy working life’s, like the central Character George Bailey, feeling that their own life has been wasted or doesn’t matter. The truth is they just don’t realise, what a massive help and influence they have been, to those that surrounded them.
The “end of life Ceremony,” in whatever form it takes, is the last formal chance to give thanks and recognition, for a life well lived. That’s my aim, to pay a fitting tribute to your loved one.
Despite being in my 60’s, I am a still a bit of a LAD!
I am Local, Adaptable & Dependable.
I Lead you through the whole ceremony, Advise you of your options & Debate the merits of each option.
Most Importantly by working Together & Implementing the wishes of the Deceased & your family & friends,
“I produce a Legacy Appropriate to the Deceased.”
If you have suffered a recent bereavement, please accept my sincere condolences.
