Hi, my name is Owen and I am your Family, Wedding and Funeral Celebrant here in Essex and surrounding areas.

Whether you’re saying goodbye to a loved one, a loved pet, or you’re on the brink of starting a life journey with a new partner, it’s important for most people when they are arranging a ceremony to find someone that can relate to them and who understands what they are looking to achieve. Someone they can trust.

Clients and friends have always described me a being a “people person” and I pride myself on being just that. There’s nothing more interesting to me than “people”.

In my working life I’ve had many roles, from my early years on building sites before joining the armed forces, to my later years as a Finance Manager for a leading family law firm. In short, I have rubbed shoulders with the rich and with the poor and I have found an affinity with all of them.

I live and work in the heart of Essex, (although I’m happy to travel further afield to conduct ceremonies when the occasion demands).

Home for me is in the beautiful village of Writtle which lies just outside of Chelmsford. I’m lucky enough to be the proud father of two beautiful grown-up daughters and a bonny grandson. Although I no longer have a dog of my own, I’m very much an animal lover and like nothing better than a long, long walk with a playful dog bounding along beside me.

Living in a village is very different to a life in the big smoke and I have always tried to be an active and proud member of my community. Past hobbies, have been wide and varied and include, amateur dramatics, rugby, judo, freemasonry, running, archery, and even Morris dancing!

When you ask me to conduct a ceremony for you, you can be confidant that you will receive a service of the highest order as a member of the UK Society of Celebrants/

Whether your loss is of a child, a parent, a grandparent or even a loved pet, we all know just how tragic it can be.

A truly meaningful funeral should not only acknowledge the death of a loved one, but it should also celebrate and pay tribute to life they led.

My role will be to hold your hand along the way, to help guide you and offer suggestions and advice. Hand in hand we will work together create a beautiful tribute that your loved one would have been proud of.

Weddings (and other family celebrations)

Your wedding day will possibly be the best day of your life. A day when you don’t just declare your love for one another, but a day when you shout it from the rooftops!

It should be a day to match no other, a celebration that will stay in your memories, and those of your friends and your families, for the rest of your lives.

Whether you choose a traditional wedding day or something a little off the wall is entirely up to you. It’s your day and your party so nothing should be off limits.

My ceremonies are unique and can be adapted to suit your needs. I’ll be there to guide you as needed and to offer you a steady hand from start to finish.

Together we will create a day that will never be forgotten.
