My name is Sarah and I live on the Greek Island of Rhodes. Originally from Dorset where I grew up enjoying the country life, I met my husband on holiday in Rhodes many moons ago! I fell in love with the way of life and Greece has been the most wonderful place to raise my family. I have worked with people visiting Greece for many years and now as my two wonderful children are spreading their wings in the UK, I am available for celebrant ceremonies in Greece. Being an independent celebrant with no specific religious affiliation, I am more than happy to work with any type of ceremony.
Greece is such a lovely place for a wedding, vow renewal or naming celebration. With over 300 days of brilliant sunshine every year, there are so many customs and traditions to experience. Would you like a Rhodian stone, sand, wine, rose or handfasting ceremony? Do you want to Jump the Broom? Maybe you have a completely different idea of your own? You will have total freedom to choose who is involved and where the ceremony is held, with no time constraints. Whether it is poolside in a hotel, on the beach, in a villa or even in a peaceful olive grove we can also include a number of Greek elements. For those of you with Greek heritage, you will already know about the Greek Stefana-the wedding crowns, wedding candles, the significance of the olive branches and of course the bombonieres-Greek favours. So many couples choose Greece to get married - it is the perfect place for an overseas ceremony.
Having spent a lifetime in Greece I also speak the language. Where relevant, Greek poems or readings can be included in your ceremony. I love learning about people and their history and I am very creative; I can be formal or casual, and feel comfortable with ceremonies of any size.
I am happy to travel anywhere in Greece; Rhodes is one of the largest Greek Islands and as such has regular flights and ferries to other destinations.
Contact me by e-mail and we can set up our first meeting online. It is important that you believe that I am the right celebrant to create your ceremony. For me, working as a celebrant is truly an honour. Happy occasions, meeting people and creating totally unique ceremonies, what a lovely way to spend my time!
