Wedding and Funeral Celebrant in Merseyside

Hello! I’m Sarah, the Celebrant.

I like to combine my love of writing, sci-fi, the weird and the odd with creating ceremonies that are friendly, honest, and relatable.

FYI My favourite Doctor is Tom Baker. I love Star Trek Original and Next Generation the most, though I would be content watching any of the spin-offs including Discovery and Picard. The ever-expanding Marvel Universe is fun, and I am a life-long fan of Wonder Woman.

NB I am an armchair fan. I have been to the odd convention and love the devoted effort people put into costumes and knowledge. If that is you too, there will be no mocking just delight at your love and I would be more than happy to accommodate your favourite show into your ceremony.

Having over 15 years of experience teaching English to students aged 4 - 80, I wanted the same job satisfaction, but with a lot less marking. Enter UKSoC with its Celebrant Training Programme.
A funeral or a wedding ceremony is not an event you can redo, so to make sure your ceremony was the best I could create – I got training! Why wouldn’t you?

Now my life consists of chasing a two-year-old, meeting families and couples, and making sure the fish (Dog and Gloria) get fed.

And as the world slowly begins to open back up, I hope to share with my two-year-old some of my put-on-hold hobbies of scuba diving, bouldering, wandering, gardening, and watching fewer episodes of Something Special – though I can now sign about twenty words including the word “friends.”

Also, all these experiences mean I am happy and able to help you have your ceremony in a place that is special to you and your family, be that the mountains, a climbing wall, underwater, or your local hostelry.

It will be such fun putting your ideas into action.

The company is called Moments To… as that is what I help you create – Moments To… Celebrate or Remember or Delight In. I like to think that I hold that moment for you to be able to express yourself in the way you want and need.

I write Wedding and Vow Renewal Ceremonies, Naming and Welcome to the Family Ceremonies, as well as Funerals and Memorial Ceremonies. I have also created a Living Funeral Ceremony called This is Your Life which would make an excellent birthday or anniversary gift.

As you might have guessed, a celebrant ceremony allows you to express yourself more freely. You have more choice when it comes to venues, traditions and even the time of your ceremony. You can involve and take advantage of the talents of your friends, family, and pets by including them in your ceremony.

The moment is about you and your family – be they blood relatives or people you have collected over your lifetime. And I want to do my best for you.

My focus is to be kind, helpful, and honest when creating ceremonies. I think of my role as more of a facilitator that holds the moment to help families and couples express their emotions.
I will do my best to answer your questions about ceremonies and to make sure you know what the next step is.

I want you to feel confident and calm whatever ceremony I am writing for you, so you can focus your energies where they are needed.

Being able to meet and help people express their feelings and giving them the opportunity to clarify their ideas, makes being a celebrant both a challenging and rewarding role. And I know how lucky I am to be able to have your trust.

Let's make this the ceremony people remember for all the best reasons.

I will take my lead from you.

Sarah x
