Hello ‚- my name is Eileen Osborne and I am pleased to be able to introduce myself to you. Until July 2014 I was a teacher. I enjoyed my role as Head of Guidance in a large comprehensive school but decided that, after 35 years in the teaching profession, it was time for a change of direction! My roles in 4 very different schools involved a tremendous lot of giving help, advice and counselling and that coupled with my life experiences led me to decide that the next pathway for me should be as a celebrant. I have not entered the role of celebrant lightly as I spent two years before 2014 researching it and finding out exactly what it takes to be the kind of celebrant people have confidence in. As well as being a teacher I am also a trained counsellor and mentor and feel that with my experiences I can take you through the planning and actual ceremony with as much empathy as possible.

I know from personal experience how stressful it can be planning life ceremonies and my aim for you will be to take as much of the stress as possible from you when it comes to the actual planning of the ceremony. I firmly believe that every person should have the kind of life ceremony which is personal and meaningful. In my celebrant role I will listen to your plans and hopes for the ceremony you wish to have and will spend considerable time and effort in making sure that your life event is exactly what you want. I am able to put together a life event which reflects exactly your beliefs, hopes, dreams, commitments and promises. If it is a funeral I will spend time with the bereaved family to ensure that every minute of the ceremony is about the loved one you have lost ‚- to celebrate their life and to remember them with love. I see all those I plan a ceremony for as friends and hopefully by the end of our planning time together you will agree with me and see me as a friend.

For all the right reasons we have, as a society, moved away from the rigid concept of life ceremonies being to a set formula, often arranged by a religious body. In the 21st century we are now in personal control of what we wish our ceremonies to be like and I am prepared and able to help you plan that individual, meaningful and uplifting ceremony for whatever occasion. Please get in touch with me to discuss your requirements and I will be happy to meet with you.
