Hello, my name is Lisa Brett and I live with my  teenage golden Labrador, Daisy Boo.

I love people and am passionate about writing for and about them. I believe that everyone has a book inside them and one of the best ways to bring this to life is through a truly bespoke ceremony.

Everyone's story is different and that's why no two ceremonies are the same. No matter what the occasion, I love to create something that is personal and meaningful to you. Whether you are celebrating the joy of a new life, the formal coming together of two lives through a wedding, the longevity of a marriage or the milestones in a loved one's life after they've passed on, I will work closely with you to craft something special and ensure that you get exactly what you want.

The testimonials page on my website is worth a look. The clients' comments speak for themselves and, I believe, show the caring way that I work with people to meet their individual needs. I always go the extra mile and research as I write to ensure accuracy and find hidden gems of information that are so important to help make your ceremony unique.

I had been searching for a career and lifestyle change for some time when I discovered celebrancy and something just clicked. I think that a lifetime in communications, and being around people from all walks of life, gives me the grounding, empathy and life experiences necessary to work as a civil celebrant.

My 30 years plus career in communications began as a television reporter and newsreader before "going to the other side" as a Media Advisor to cabinet ministers both in the UK and Australia.

I was born down under and have spent my life living and working in both countries, but the UK is home.
Family and friends are the most important things in the world to me and I’m fortunate to have both a multicultural and blended family.

Travel and adventure are lifelong passions, as are gardening, the outdoors (I love climbing volcanoes), antiques, family history, David Lynch movies and the surrealist artist, Salvador Dali.

I'm fortunate that I trained with the best industry body in the business. The United Kingdom Society of Celebrants is a wonderful and supportive organisation that puts people at the heart of everything it does.
