My name is Donna Robinson, I am your Funeral Celebrant in Lancashire. Living in the northwest and having family in the northeast allows me to be flexible in the area I cover. I am originally from Oxfordshire and moved to the northeast over twenty years ago on my marriage.

My family moved to the beautiful county of Lancashire allowing me to continue my career in this friendly place. it has also enabled me to meet and make many new friends.

I am delighted when asked to travel further for a ceremony as I truly love the natural beauty of this green and pleasant land.

Growing up in a Christian household, meant I participated in weddings, funerals, and baby blessings. I believe that every person is worthy of love and respect. Living in a diverse world gives us many opportunities to celebrate our differences, I love that in life we are able to find inclusion and common ground in our differences, helping one another to appreciate and understand a different view.

As a young person with no commitments, I travelled as far as my income allowed, enjoying the sights in other countries. My aim now is to traverse the British Isles and see as much of our country as possible, it’s a work in progress.

In my spare time I enjoy a long country walk with my family and our beautiful cockerpoo, just a puppy who loves to get into mischief. Perhaps not surprising with a name like Frodo. Not being a natural walker Frodo has helped me to explore places I may not of otherwise been drawn to, which has been truly wonderful.

Deciding to train as a funeral celebrant came after a mile stone birthday ( I am inclined to keep the number to myself).

When deciding on my future, I remembered the celebrant who conducted the funeral for my sister who passed away unexpectedly. Although it was an extremely difficult time for my siblings and I, it was made so much easier by the kindness and understanding of the celebrant we used. Remembering my sister and some of the funny experiences as well as her personality traits and habits helped us along in the grieving process.

I gained confidence when delivering the eulogy at both my parents funerals, I learnt how death affects us emotionally and practically. It is a humbling experience to offer care and compassion for others in challenging circumstances. I am honoured to help the departed person’s life be celebrated with heartfelt meaning and integrity, to know that just as the celebrant for my sister, I too will help in a small way another family to find peace and acceptance in losing their loved one.

I find joy in words, I can write beautiful, personalised ceremonies for any occasion. I love to write things that speak to your heart. Words that express exactly what you want to say. My friends say I am empathic and compassionate, I believe my greatest skill is to be organised, with a firm back up plan for any unexpected situations.
