Hello my name is Helen and I have lived in the West Midlands all my life, and proud to be a traditional Black Country ‘girl’. I have three wonderful children who have successfully made their way into University and the world of work. Influenced and encouraged by my parents from a young age, I have been a musician since I was 9 years old, learning to play the piano and organ through school years and playing the organ and keyboard as a member of a band on the club circuit for a number of years until I got married to Kevin in 1990. My working career has introduced me to people from many backgrounds, working on the front line of Customer service within retail and warehousing industry as well as a utilities company for 12 years. I returned to study music at Wolverhampton University in 2003 and qualified with a BA (honours) Music degree in 2006, eventually becoming a Music Teacher, both in mainstream and in Special needs schools.
I have been a Church Organist for over 40 years, and have a wealth of experience of a variety of services. I have worked closely with Ministers, clergy and families, helping, advising and providing music for many wedding, funeral, baptism, and naming ceremonies. I have been a crematorium organist since 2001, and worked within the Bereavement department for the local authority since January 2012, where choice of music and service content has been widely varied. Therefore, I believe it is essential to be open minded and acceptable to meet family requests and ideas, to make their occasion personal to them. Music and People are an important and an influential aspect of my life, and I feel privileged to be part of their lives during these important times.

Having been part of so many formal occasions over my career, I have chosen to become a Civil Celebrant to enable me the opportunity to share my knowledge and experience to offer families a personal, unique and professional service. I love meeting and working with people, and my aim is to make a positive and memorable difference to their special occasion. I am well accustomed and committed to working to a high professional standard and I will be honoured to lead your service with as much or as little Religious content as you wish, the choice is yours. I fully understand the pressures faced by families when arranging a service, and will be guided by your individual wishes, values and beliefs. Wedding and Funeral services will be individually written and tailored to meet your wishes as a family, including choice of poems, readings and music. Good communication is important to me, to ensure every detail is discussed, and to reassure you of my devoted attention to detail, making your special service a lasting tribute and a memorable occasion.
