Hi I’m Alison Sandham and I have lived in the Chorley area all my life.
I have had a varied career in that I have worked in the private sector, public sector and charity sector but always in management roles. I have travelled extensively across the country with my work. I began my career in management with a High Street Retail Store and it was within this environment that I learned to deal with people, listening to their needs and responding to ensure that the highest levels of customer service were delivered to each individual customer.
I then moved to the Civil Service, to the Land Registry where I spent 20 years of my career. The Land Registry is a customer facing agency dealing with the legal profession and the public and once again customer service (speed, accuracy and efficiency) were all important. During my time with the Land Registry I moved into Training and Development.
I then joined Victim Support a National Charity as The National Staff Development Manager a position in which I had responsibility for all staff development and management training needs across the organisation.
My work within Victim Support included training others in key communication skills, especially enhanced listening and empathising but also empowering and enabling others particularly in difficult and highly emotional circumstances, including those bereaved by murder and manslaughter. I am passionate about and enjoy public speaking and being at front of house in that I have facilitated workshops, made presentations and fronted conferences and events and I am an experienced coach and mentor.
I am also used to making things happen and have always had to deal with a variety of people in a variety of roles ensuring I get the best out of all those I am working with to get a good job done.
Communication has always been at the heart of my work and I love meeting and working with people and celebrate human diversity in all its richness. I easily build rapport with people and have a very natural warmth and easy style that enables me to engage with others and everyone within an audience. I am very organised in my work and have real attention to detail which is essential when organising and delivering that perfect ceremony.
Over my career I have acquired many skills and much knowledge but added to all of this is my attitude to my work. I am passionate about professionalism and loyalty and ensuring that the needs of you my client are met.
I will work with you to provide a bespoke ceremony that is as individual as you, your loved ones and your family and friends.
Your ceremony can be spiritual, have elements of spirituality or be completely secular; the choice is always yours.
I provide assistance and coaching with presentations and public speaking so that you can create and deliver that all important, speech, tribute or eulogy with confidence.
I am looking forward to meeting you and working with you to create a ceremony that is beautiful, memorable, bespoke and reflects you and your loved one’s choices. Each ceremony will give you the opportunity to reflect, confirm your love ,celebrate life and make sense of the occasion. It will reflect your personaility. your values, and your beliefs.
Let’s celebrate life, its beginnings and its endings and everything in between and together we can ensure that each ceremony even in the most difficult of circumstances, enables us to say what we feel and need to express.
