Wedding and Funeral Celebrant in Lancashire
Hello, my name is Sandra and I am your Wedding and Funeral Celebrant in Lancashire. I was born in Castleford Yorkshire, the eldest of three girls. I met and married Alan, an ex Coldstream Guard. We have one son who together with my lovely daughter in law have given me two wonderful grandchildren.
I have taught in Primary Education and later in Colleges. I was also an assessor for students studying in the beauty industry.
I left full time work to care for my husband Alan when he was diagnosed with Dementia. When he went into care I filled my time by co-option to our Town Council here in Garstang and subsequently became Mayor.
Sadly Alan died on Boxing Day 2011 after living approximately six years with his Dementia. I recently served four years as County Councillor on Lancashire County Council.
I am passionate about Dementia Awareness and am a Dementia Friends Ambassador giving talks all over Lancashire and Cumbria and am working towards making Garstang a Dementia Friendly town. I run a Memory Cafe at our local library.
I give talks on the Coldstream Guards donating the fee to the benevolent fund and am a Life time honorary member of the Coldstream Guards Association.
I am a member of Garstang Lions club and still an active member of the Town Council.
