My name is Sharyn Bowden and I am an 'almost' retired Registered Nurse. I love to go out with friends to the cinema/theatre/concerts. My other hobbies include knitting and crocheting. Cooking and baking are also top of my list of things I like to do. Walking is enjoyable as are swimming.  I would be more of an armchair sports woman though!  I love rugby and golf (not playing, just watching) I've been trying to play bridge for a few years now, I like it but can't take it too seriously!

I attended school in Belfast and thoroughly enjoyed myself. During the 70's I met a nurse at the RVH who had worked in Bermuda and I thought that sounded quite nice so I applied for a job and went to work there as a midwife. I originally intended going for one year but in actual fact I lived there for 23 years. Travelling to the USA was a big part of my life while living on 'the rock'.   I, of course,  came home regularly especially when my son attended boarding school in Belfast. He also was a good rugby player so indeed any excuse and I'd be on a flight!

Since becoming semi retired I have completed my TEFL training which enables me to teach English as a foreign language. Italy is my favourite European country and I've given Italian a good shot.

My thoughts are that we should treat people the way we would like to be treated.  My reason for becoming a celebrant is that I would like to give people the type of celebration that they would like to have.  Nothing strange there??
